an elementary school administrator rarely do I receive letters
expressing the positive virtues of our school system...I would like to
assure you that this is a letter expressing sincerity and appreciation
for my sons first year at Penn State Hazleton...My son wanted no part
of on-campus living, so we started looking at off-campus housing...we
came to a home owned by Neil & Margaret Casey and we were
immediately impressed not only with the living conditions but also with
Mr. & Mrs. Casey...they take a sincere interest in the students
that rent from them, but at the same time do not intrude in their
privacy... I belive when someone is doing a commendable service for
students it shoud be note..Mr. & Mrs. Casey provided a safe and
healthy environment for our son and I would recommend them to any

| When
I began my search for housing it was the end of July, and by that time
almost everyone was full...I had to settle for an Apartment with 7
other tenants...as my first semester came to an end, I felt the living
conditions were unbearable and my landlord referred me to Margaret
& Neil Casey...Within short notice they opened up a house for me
and two others and still decreased my rent amount, as I was still in an
obliged lease to another landlord...While just giving you a little
background of my living situation for my first year attending Penn
State Hazleton, I wanted you to know that Margaret & Neil Casey are
excellent landlords, without them I would have never survived my first
year at college and no matter what it is they are there for you...they
went beyond their responsibility and accommodated strangers in need and

you for the so many nice things you have done that made this semester's
living arrangement a real success! You have a true gift in providing
supervision and structure that is not oppressive, but is very
encouraging to the boys...thank you for being willing to invest that
extra bit of yourself to help them make the transition from home to
independence...Adam has become a lot more focused and mature this
semester and I give you a lot of credit for that because you have

want to thank 2 very special people who have made my time in Hazleton a
success...My landlords for the last 4 years...Margaret & Neil
Casey..who encourgaged, inspired and assisted me in so very many
ways---from proof reading my papers to caring for my physical and
emotional needs These are the best landlords compared to all the other
landlords in the area who don't reaaly care about their students, they
are by far more caring than most people you and I ever run into during
our lives...They always had time and patience for my concerns, and have

| I
would like to take this time to express my gratitude to two very
special people, who have taken on a responsibility of taking your
students under their wings, not just by having them live in their
homes, but by being 'parents' which the child is away from home. This
is such a traumatic experience, more so I believe for the parent than
the child...I was given a refererence for housing for Margaret and
Neil, and after speaking to Margaret for just five minutes, I knew the
right person was there for myself and my first born...As traumatic as
this experience was, these two people made it so easy and I hope I have
the pleasure of my second child finding leaving the next so simple with
people who can be landlords as well as friends, rather than just living
in a house, providing uniformity, rules and love, which is definitely
what my daughter has learned under the guidance of Margaret and
Neil...it is a gift I will never forget... I know its on your policy in
any way to refer landlords, but please, if you know anybody personally,
I would highly recommend them to the home environment that they go
